Ordering your stationery in a timely manner will alleviate much of the stress associated with your wedding planning. Please take a look at the timeline below to help you organize.
Send out your save the dates now. If you are having a destination wedding, then give your guests ample time to make travel plans. Also, start ordering samples of invitation suites. We don't like surprises when it comes to wedding planning, so know exactly what you will get will bring that anxiety level down a few notches.
I love sending out samples. I want to ensure that you are 100% happy every step of the way. Ordering samples is the only way to know you will love what you get! You cannot return custom wedding invitations, so make sure you know exactly what you are going to get so there are no surprises.
Order your wedding suite now. I email your first set of proofs within 24 hours of your order submission. But you may need to consult with friends, family members, church, venue etc to make sure your wording is perfect. Printing takes a full 2-3 weeks. Your venue may change your start time at the last minute, you might have misspelled a street name. Things do happen and you need to build in that buffer time!
Invitations must be sent out in the mail by this time. Earlier, for destination weddings. Set your RSVP date 3-4 weeks before your wedding. This allows you to consult with your caterer and gives you plenty of time to make follow up calls with guests not replying yet.
Start ordering your "Day Of" stationery such as programs, table cards, place cards, brunch invitations and signs for your special day. Depending on the time of the year, rush service may not be available. If it is, it can be very pricey! Avoid this when possible. Order early!
Order Thank You notes and envelopes. Your good friends and family
have graced you with their presence and special gifts... let's put your appreciation in writing!
